Grand Rapids Stroller Friendly Runs

Estimated read time 2 min read

Many of us silly moms love getting out with our babs in the strollers for a good run or walk. Doing a race with a kiddo is a really fun way to share a hobby and show them what it’s like to participate in an active event.

Some ladies from the Grand Rapids Moms Run This Town group put this list together, but we’re always looking for more races! Please comment or email me through the contact page if you would like to let me know of another race. I’ll gladly add it to my list! Here are a few Grand Rapids races that allow strollers (and some regional races that we knew were stroller friendly and added as well).

Gazelle Girl 5k – April 17dren and wally
Grand Rapids
The area’s only all-women run. Gazelle Girl is an AWESOME event, and there are tons of moms who run it, along with lots of supporters and adorable kids who cheer for us. This is what the race site says about using a stroller/jogger in the 5k: “The 5k course will be baby jogger friendly but we ask that if you are bringing your little Gazelle Girl (or guy) along that you line up behind the runners.”

Purple Community 5k – April 30
Comstock Park

Rivertown Races 5k – April 30
Grandville
The race website says that strollers are allowed on the 5k course.

Huntington Reeds Lake Run 5k, 10k – June 4
East Grand Rapids
Strollers are now allowed but you must start at the back of your race for the safety of participants.

Spring Lake Heritage Festival 5k – June 18
Spring Lake
Running strollers WILL be allowed on the course, however, we request you start at the rear of the pack.

Reeds Lake Trailblazer 4.5 mile – July 4
East Grand Rapids
The website says “Families, strollers, and serious runners welcome!” Hey man, my stroller makes me super serious. 😉

Coast Guard Festival 5k, 10k, 1 mile – July 30
Grand Haven
Doesn’t say on their website anything about strollers, but is very family-friendly and others have confirmed they allow strollers.

Running for Covers – August 14
Grand Rapids
Obviously our BFFs at Running for Covers want all the ladies and their strollers to come out and run!

Cadillac Festival of Races – September 3
Cadillac, Labor Day weekend
