Grand Rapids Runs – March 2016

There are lots of things happening this month. Don’t miss out! I’ll try to collect all the info I can think of. Comment if there are other things we should know about.

Grand Rapids Running Club Mentor Group Run

Saturday Mornings, John Ball Zoo, 8am

Meet up with Grand Rapids Running Club for their weekly long run. Each week the out-and-back courses will be marked with orange Grand Rapids Marathon road cones. A cone on the left means turn left, and a cone on the right means turn right. The turnarounds will be marked with two orange cones.

Weekly Free Group Runs at Striders

Tuesday in Eastowm, Thursday in Grandville

6 p.m. (3-mile or 5-mile loop)
Tuesdays at Eastown (1551 Wealthy St. SE) 

Thursdays at Grandville (4045 Chicago Dr. SW)

Gilda’s Laughfest Third Annual Funderwear 5K Run

Grand Rapids Community College Ford Fieldhouse

Help Gilda’s Club bring laughter and awareness of emotional health to the streets of Grand Rapids by donning your “finest (and funniest!)” underwear OVER your running clothes! Prizes for best underwear, best couple, best dog, and more! Participation will help support Gilda’s Club. More information!

Blarney Stone 5k, 10k, Half Marathon

First, some of us are headed to Potterville for the Blarney Stone 5k/10k/Half on 3/13. It benefits the Mid Michigan Cat Rescue, doesn’t start until 10am, there are free race photos, and a free post-run beer tent. Seriously. You should go sign up right meow.

Kent City Ridge Run 12th Annual 15K and 5K

Saturday, March 26, 2016, 9:30 a.m.

Kent City High School, 351 N. Main St., Kent City, MI 49330

Run “Jill’s Hills”—a rolling, rural route with a downhill finish, followed by a warm mini-feast inside. Newly designed 15K finisher medals. Choice of age group awards.
