You should come do the Jingle Bell Run with me. I promise it will be warm with no wind, no snow, and flat streets. Okay, well, maybe I can’t promise all of that, but it’s going to be a great run! Saturday, December 5 at 9am from the downtown Pew Campus at GVSU.
I’ve never done this race before. I did the Ugly Sweater Run and PRd, but the problem is that there was no chip timing. BOO! I did it in like 25 minutes. I want to see if I can do that again. And the good news is: Jingle Bell Run has chip timing! And lots of other awesome things. If there’s no snow on the ground, I will ditch the PR attempt and set a new PR by running this one with Wally in the stroller. Might need his super-adorable bear snowsuit and the stroller cover, but that can be arranged. #momlife
This holiday season, I’m participating in the Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis. This family-friendly, fun, and festive 5K run/walk raises money to help the Arthritis Foundation while they search for a cure, and provide life changing information and support to people with arthritis.
Join My Grand Rapids Jingle Bell Run Team!
I volunteered to help the race committee, and have started a team with my work. Anyone can join. We’re called the Innereactive Ice Monsters! That set me up with a team and fundraising page here: Jingle Bell Run – Innereactive Ice Monsters. Of course, if you want to pop over there and throw some money into the pot, that will go to arthritis research! And it will add to non-profit 5k my street cred.
Over 50 million Americans have arthritis, making it the number one cause of disability in the country. That means 1 in every 5 adults, 300,000 children and countless families. These numbers are only going to keep growing—unless we take a stand. The first steps in conquering arthritis are learning the facts, understanding your condition and knowing that help is by your side. —arthritis.org
